DOCi — Emerging Filmmakers Programme is a registered non-profit founded in 2018. We provide free, 12-week, fully immersive documentary filmmaking training to students from disadvantaged communities who would otherwise have no access to film school.
Every graduate produces a broadcast-quality short documentary focused on human rights issues in their community. All 34 films have screened at international festivals.

Josh PJ Hall is a Cape Town-based production manager and coordinator with over a decade of experience across features, documentary, TVC and live events. He has worked with international studios and broadcasters including Paramount, BBC, StudioCanal, Amazon and Hallmark — managing and coordinating productions across South Africa, East Africa and beyond.
Josh graduated Cum Laude with a National Diploma in Film and Video Technology from Cape Peninsula University of Technology in 2015, receiving the Dean's Medal from the Faculty of Informatics and Design. He later completed an Honours Degree in Motion Picture Medium at AFDA Cape Town.
In 2018 Josh co-founded DOCi — Emerging Filmmakers Programme, a non-profit offering free documentary filmmaking training to students from disadvantaged communities. To date DOCi has graduated over 130 filmmakers and produced 34 short documentaries, all selected for international festivals.
Josh is bilingual in English and Afrikaans, highly experienced in international crew management and multi-timezone logistics, and equally comfortable operating remotely or in the field. He is based in Cape Town and available for international projects.
Josh has a broad understanding of the film industry and has developed a skillset that will allow him to pursue any career path he chooses. It's impossible to imagine him not being successful.
